Ray McDermott London Marathon

December 10 was a special occasion for the Royal British Legion Paderborn Branch.  The guests of honour at their Christmas Draw were Ray McDermott and his wife, Anita from Detmold.  Ray ran the London Marathon in April 2005.   Completing the Marathon is an achievement in itself but an even greater achievement is the amount of money raised by Ray for the Poppy Appeal Benevolent Fund; a total of €3420.  This money will be put to good use helping service/ex-service personnel, their spouses and dependant children.   Jim Griffiths MBE, Chairman of the Branch presented Ray with a certificate of appreciation and commended Ray on his efforts.
