The Legion was first created to help servicemen who fought in World War One and to help their dependants.  Since then it has grown into a network of charitable organisations within the Legion and covers many functions such as:

  • Welfare work, ie Hospital visits.

  • Help on pensions.

  • War Pensions.

  • Residential Care

  • Benefits

  • Resettlement training/employment

  • Compensation claims.

  • Remembrance travel

  • Poppy Appeal

  • Fundraising events

Membership of the Legion is not necessary to obtain advice and help.  Its role is to help service and ex service men/women and their dependants.    However, being a member of the Branch offers comradeship with personnel who all have something in common.
